The level 1 course is aimed at providing delegates with knowledge of how to potentially identify suspected mental health conditions. It gives guidance on how to start the conversation and be able to sign post the person to towards professional help.
This half day course will cover:
• Understanding what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the
role of a First Aider for mental health
• Understanding how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting with a mental health condition
• Knowing how to recognise and manage stress
• Knowing how to recognise a range of mental health conditions
