The Level 2 course - consists of the Level 1 topics and expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the mental health action plan and covers ways in which positive mental health culture can be supported within the workplace.
This day course will cover:
• Understanding what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the
role of a First Aider for mental health
• Understanding how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting with a mental health condition
• Knowing how to recognise and manage stress
• Knowing how to recognise a range of mental health conditions
• Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
• Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
• Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
