About us

KeepaBeat was founded by Sam Mackay, an experienced First Aid Trainer with a passion for making life-saving skills accessible, memorable and empowering for families.

After qualifying as a Lifeguard and First Aid Trainer, Sam worked with a wide range of organisations delivering training across the UK — from major household brands including House of Fraser, Sainsbury’s and Starbucks, to local childminders, nannies and community groups.

But over time, first aid became much more than a profession.

When Sam became a mum to her daughter Ruby in 2012, everything changed. Like many parents, she quickly realised just how unpredictable family life can be — and how important it is to know what to do in those critical first moments of an emergency.

That experience sparked a new mission.

Sam became determined to help parents, grandparents, carers and families feel more confident and prepared through engaging, practical first aid training designed specifically for real-life family situations.

What started with a laptop in the front room and a car full of m

anikins soon grew into KeepaBeat — a trusted and recognised first aid training brand focused on making learning accessible, memorable and genuinely life-changing.

As demand for sessions continued to grow, it became clear that the KeepaBeat message needed to reach even more families across the UK.

In 2016, KeepaBeat joined the WOW World Group and began developing into a national franchise network, allowing passionate trainers and business owners to deliver KeepaBeat sessions within their own communities.

Today, KeepaBeat continues to support families, schools, nurseries and communities across the UK through engaging first aid education that gives people the confidence to act when it matters most.

The KeepaBeat Journey

KeepaBeat began franchising in 2017 and quickly grew into a successful network of passionate trainers delivering life-saving education across the UK.

As with many businesses built around face-to-face learning and family services, the pandemic brought significant challenges to the industry. During this period, we took the opportunity to refine the business, strengthen our systems and adapt the franchise model for long-term sustainability.

Over the past few years, KeepaBeat has evolved into a more focused, flexible and scalable franchise opportunity — designed to meet the needs of modern families, schools and communities.

Today, we continue to grow with a clear vision: to make life-saving first aid education more accessible while supporting franchise partners to build meaningful businesses within their local communities.
