First Aid For EYFS in Hertfordshire

We specialise in teaching paediatric first aid and are proud to currently work with over 125 local early years settings and schools across both Hertfordshire and Essex. 

 

If you are a childcare setting we have a range of onsite and local sessions available for you. 

 

For EYFS, schools, childminders and nannies we have the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course. A fully regulated Ofqual 12 hour course (usually 6 hours online + 6 hours face2face) delivered at your venue or our training centre in WARE

 

The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Course (PFA) is delivered either as a 2 day face2face course or a blended course. 

 

Blended courses are 6 hours online + 6 hours face2face.

For schools looking to train remaining staff in either basic first aid or workplace courses we have both options available. 

 

Basic First Aid For Schools 

 

This 4 hour course is designed to support your existing first aiders. 

 

Whats covered: 

 

  • Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency 
  • Awareness in preventing cross infection, Recording Incidents and use of available equipment
  • Treating an unconscious casualty including seizures 
  • Adult & Junior CPR
  • Choking 
  • Minor Injuries Including bites, stings, nose bleeds and minor burns 
  • Head Injuries (bitesized)
  • Asthma (bitesized)
  • Anaphylaxis (bitesized)

 

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work + Schools bolt on 

 

This 1-day course has been adapted to suit schools and childcare settings. Covering all the topics as stipulated by the HSE for the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate plus extra subjects that we feel are a must for schools. 

 

Whats covered: 

 

  • Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Preventing cross infection, Recording Incidents and use of available equipment
  • Treating an unconscious casualty including seizures
  • Adult CPR
  • Introduction to AED and Demo
  • Practical AED session
  • Choking
  • Wounds & Bleeding
  • Seizures 
  • Shock
  • Minor Injuries and Burns

 

Schools bolt on: Head Injuries (bitesized) - Asthma (bitesized) - Anaphylaxis (bitesized)

 

Level 3 First Aid at Work 

 

Day 1 - Emergency First Aid at Work 

 

Day 2/3 will cover:

 

  • Fractures
  • Sprains & Strains
  • Suspected Head & Spinal Injuries
  • Chest Injuries 
  • Severe burns and scalds
  • Eye Injuries 
  • Poisoning 
  • Anaphylaxis 
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Epilepsy 
  • Asthma 
  • Diabetes

 

 

This 3-day course is suitable for those settings that have a large workforce or have deemed themselves as high risk. Covering an in-depth range of topics to full fill your legal duties ti apply qualified first aiders at work.
